During past projects I recognise that I can go off topic and down a rabbit warren of design. Sometimes divergacy is great, I might stumble across another product that is worth designing at a later date. However, when aiming to achieve a well realised product in a short amount of time like we have on university briefs, I have found un-picking the brief and the aims ( whats the end game?) of the product brief and displaying these on a wall chart keeps me focused on the ‘purpose’ of the product I am designing this way of bring my focuse back to the project breif is resulting in a well executed and polished projects. my marks reflect this.
Bellow is an example of modeling to answer the aims of the brief.
Mushroom punnet packaging, that has a secondary use to grow mushrooms, and then is used as biofuel as part of Leeds council black bin waste.
The packaging is pictured with a world map to hint at the materials Hemp been globally abundant.
The Hemp is a waste material from other industrial uses. Because the packaging is for the FMCG market, I want to use materials that are cheep, making the packaging viable for convenience brands aimed at the lower-income demographic, like Iceland frozen food store.
