Love BIO-Bean Powered by coffee

Love BIO-Bean.

The company recycles coffee granules and makes 100% CARBON NEUTRAL BIOFUEL.

The article below copied from www.bio-bean.com/coffee-logs/ outlines why the use of renewable waste resource coffee granules is an asset as a biofuel and gives reason to why I have used coffee granuals in my IAM biofuel packaging design.

Let recycled coffee warm your home…

Coffee Logs are eco heating briquettes for woodburners, stoves and open fires, made from your waste coffee grounds.

Each year bio-bean recycles thousands of tonnes of waste coffee grounds, collected from coffee shops, cafés, offices and transport hubs around the UK. Recycling coffee helps reduce greenhouse gases, diverts waste away from costly landfill and gives your latte a useful second life.

At our world-first coffee recycling factory in Cambridgeshire, our engineers turn these coffee grounds into Coffee Logs – the sustainable alternative to conventional winter fuels.

Each carbon neutral Coffee Log is made from the grounds of 25 cups of coffee and burns 20% hotter and longer than kiln-dried wood. And recycling coffee waste generates 80% less emissions than if the grounds are sent to landfill.

Coffee Logs are ideal for use in woodburners and stoves, but can be used in open fires too.

1.  Place firelighters on appliance bed and cover with kindling.
2.  Add two or three Coffee Logs.
3.  Light the firelighters and let the fire establish itself.
4. Coffee Logs will burn best when undisturbed. Avoid prodding or stoking them.
5.  When the fire is established, add more Coffee Logs as required. We recommend no more than two or three at a time, though. They kick out some serious heat!

Woodburners and stoves: Build up Coffee Logs gradually, taking care not to overload your appliance. Always follow the appliance manufacturer’s guidelines.

Open fires: Contain fires, ensure chimneys are clear, and keep all combustible materials at a safe distance. Ensure a fireproof space and use fire screens if necessary. Do not overload the grate, and follow manufacturer guidelines.

An extractor or ventilation may be required for indoor burning.
