I now need to get the mold making to good finish, so that the prototype tray from the mold tells the story of an a product a person would eat from.

At this stage I re-experimented with flat surface design, this type of annotation is called double diamond I often find my design annotation revisit previous methods.

The idea behind the flat surface design was so that i could experiment with vac forming the product. Vac-forming the material didn’t work however i think with development this type of manufacture could be possible. As I work with the material I have noticed that by increasing the gum the material becomes more flexible. I also think if I replace the water with another solution the material would be different again. I think this because during dehydration I suspect the water mostly disappears.

At this stage of the project I was worried I wouldn’t have a tray that was a good finish for my project end.

Working with parkside flexible’s and the help of my team of friends working through manufacturing challenges resulted in trying new manufacturing methods.
