Project 2 Year 3 Sketchbook 14 – Making Paper – also with mushroom spaws

These images show the modeling of a material intended to be used as packaging with the secondary use of biofuel. These were the first prototypes and as you can see in the latter images they were made using paper making techniques. ive learnt from previous modeling that achieving good quality paper at come is difficult. I decided not to continue as i want a glossy look to my final tray, that what consumers like when purchasing food, this was pointed out in a blog feedback comment by Amy, a friend and engineer we met at WIL

Waste coffee granules, I really like the concept behind Bio Bean, the use of coffee granules as biofuel was borrowed from this company.

My wall chart Keeping my design on track.

In situations like this where my modeling isn’t making progress I look back at the who, what, why  wall chart.

In this case i gave me inspiration to tray a different form of paper modeling. i took inspiration from the egg box next to my wall chart and emulated that type of manufacturing process. making a mould gave much better results. see images below.

Hard to get good results. With practice I got betterModeling using egg box techniqueTesting the strength of my paper bowl
